Brian Boetig is a creative content developer whose work fuses high-stakes realism with character-driven storytelling built for premium television and streaming services. After spending more than three decades inside the world of law enforcement, intelligence, and diplomacy, Brian now channels those experiences into bold, emotionally grounded series and features that explore power, secrecy, loyalty, and the personal cost of living double lives.

Before entering entertainment, Brian served at the highest levels of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and U.S. intelligence community, ultimately becoming an FBI Assistant Director responsible for global operations, including leading the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate for the FBI, where missing nuclear weapons from the Cold War and biological attacks were on the daily agenda. He ran international networks, managed covert partnerships, negotiated with foreign governments as an accredited US Diplomat living overseas, and led teams through moments where the margin for error was zero. From his responses to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Park Bombing and the 9/11 attack at the Pentagon to chasing a serial killer in Africa, those experiences now drive his creative voice: stories where the tension feels earned, the dialogue sounds lived-in, and the consequences are real.

In 2023, Brian founded Global Trace, originally a global security and advisory firm handling modern, human and technical crises, from tracking stolen cryptocurrency across borders to recovering runaway teenagers. These cases, often unfolding in morally gray territory, became the narrative DNA for his creative slate: intimate stories set against global stakes, where personal decisions ripple outward in unexpected ways.

In 2025, Brian partnered with screenwriter Gil Wiseman to develop multiple television and feature film treatments, launching a focused push into premium scripted entertainment. What began as stories rooted in FBI and CIA experience quickly expanded into a broader, more cinematic range: global thrillers, complex dramas, dark and situational comedy, and romantic comedy, united by sharp character work and high-concept engines. Together, they build worlds designed to sustain long-running series while remaining accessible to mainstream and streaming audiences.

As a showrunner-minded creator, Brian brings leadership discipline to the writers’ room. He understands hierarchy, pressure, and collaboration, all of which defined his law enforcement and intelligence career, and how to translate them into compelling story structure. His background allows him to break story with authority, challenge cliché, and keep narratives grounded while still pushing tone, humor, and emotional risk. He is especially drawn to stories about moral ambiguity, institutional loyalty, ethical compromise, and the private lives hidden beneath public roles.

Beginning in 2026, Global Trace focuses exclusively on developing and producing premium film and television content through Global Trace. With a slate built on real-world experience, cinematic ambition, and an unapologetically character-first approach, Brian Boetig is creating shows that feel urgent, dangerous, funny, and human, because the worlds they’re drawn from actually were.
